The Quality System Compliance Specialist is responsible for delivering audit services to assigned Business Units clients in accordance with all ISO9000/AS9100 Quality management and regulatory requirements of quality with cost-effective service and delivery, that ensures satisfaction of our customer needs.

This individual can sit at any Collins location both domestic and remote.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, conduct, and plan internal QMS audits for compliance with the AS9100 series of standards in support of all sites across Collins.

  • Perform all formal responsibilities of an auditor such as audit planning, representing the audit team with Collin’s site leadership, conducting opening and closing meetings and daily debriefs with management, completing an audit report, and issuing, reviewing, and approving formal corrective actions.

  • Assist Collin’s Certification body during site surveillance and recertification audits. Assist in facilitating third-party (certification body) BSI audit schedules, logistics, and closure of corrective actions.

  • Conduct comprehensive audit preparation and planning based on historical and current performance data.

  • Support special audits and independent assessments as required by Collin’s business units, including training with Special Process auditors, Drug and Alcohol auditors, etc.

  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and train teams

  • Able to be certified as an Aerospace Experienced Auditor 9100 (AEA) within one year

  • Able to be certified as an Aerospace Experienced Auditor 9110 (AEA) within two years

  • Able to be certified as an Aerospace Experienced Auditor 9120 (AEA) within two years

  • Lead Aerospace Experience Auditor (AEA) certification, including AATT (Aerospace Auditor Transition Training) to be completed within 4 to 12 months of accepting the position.

  • This position requires up to 80% travel and must be located with convenient access to a major airport.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 80% of the time (domestic and international)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience

  • 1+ years of Aerospace QMS auditing experience

Qualifications We Prefer::

  • Ability to function without direct supervision

  • Existing certification to AATT (Aerospace Auditor Transition Training)

  • Existing Industry AEA Certification (91xx) as described above

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

*This position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
